While downtown San Diego living was not the right fit for Bryan and me, we do miss the Little Italy neighborhood. I can’t tell you how many times we took a nighttime stroll down to Pappalecco for frothy lattes and creamy gelato. And while the superb food is definitely a draw, there’s more to Little Italy than ravioli and Chianti and pizza – it’s an area of town bustling with life, culture, history, and intrigue.
So it should come as no surprise that when Bryan and I found out Little Italy would be hosting their annual Festa last weekend, we cruised downtown, ready to celebrate one of our favorite San Diego neighborhoods.
The Festa did not disappoint. Between Italian swing bands, a bocce tournament, delicious food vendors, and some truly incredible chalk artists, we had a beautiful Sunday afternoon.
